About Stephen Kirwin

Stephen Kirwin, BA, CMT, is a neuromuscular and orthopedic sports massage therapist with 29+ years of experience. A graduate of the University of Colorado (Biological Anthropology, 1995) and the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (1996), he previously served as Lead NMT Therapist at the University of Colorado Physical Therapy Center (1995–1998) and ran a private practice in Boulder (1998–2005).

A 12‑time Ironman finisher with extensive mountain biking and trail racing experience, Stephen has worked with elite athletes including Ironman champions Scott Tinley and Dave Scott, as well as members of Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France team. He has also treated public figures such as Kevin Spacey and Oliver Stone.

Stephen emphasizes direct, effective therapeutic work over passive styles. He integrates structural integration, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, craniosacral therapy (Upledger Institute certified, 2010; Core Unwinding, 2014), and deep tissue massage to support healing, detoxification, rehabilitation, performance, and pain‑free movement.

Since 2005, he has been a visiting consultant at integrative wellness centers across Southeast Asia and internationally. His work includes Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary (lead visiting therapist since 2013), Motion Revolution Singapore, Pilates Central Kuala Lumpur, University of Colorado Sports Medicine Department, and consulting for major wellness groups such as:
